Home Parties
Home parties are such a blast! It’s a great way for you to share with your local friends, family, and neighbors all about what you’re doing as a SEINT artist.
Here are some general tips for planning and executing an effective home party:
Invite 4x as many people as you want to actually have show up. Typically, about one in four will come. About half will RSVP “yes,” and then half again of those will actually make it by on the big night. In our opinion, a really nice guest list for a first class is between 8-12 ladies. So generally, if you can invite 40-50 friends, you’ll likely end up with the the perfect-sized group.
Invite one week before via personal text message. You can copy the main info from the message from person to person, but make sure at least part of your message is custom to them, their name, their needs. Like this, “Hey Suzie! I thought of you because I know you just like simple, easy makeup. And I wanted to just invite you to a fun makeup class i’m hosting at my house next week!…”
Keep it SIMPLE. Don’t worry too much about decorations, signs, food, or displays. Keep it light and easy, no fuss and no stress. Your time will be better spent inviting guests than it would be scouring the internet for the perfect cake stand to display your new artist palette on ;-). Ideally, a plate of cookies and some punch or soft drinks, or wine and cheese is a perfect snack. Focus on CONNECTING with your guests and on serving them, and on just being excited. You can even come up with a fun name for your class like “HAC Class for Beginners,” or “Makeup and Mingle.” Any fun title that feels like YOU.
Remind the guests. A lot. While this class is very important to you as you’re launching your business, it’s important to realize that it won’t be the most important thing for most people. When that happens, people forget! So remind your guests not only the day before, but also the day of the class. Don’t forget to include a cool little clip all about what they will be learning if they attend the class. This clip is GREAT to send with your invites and again with your reminder messages! Invite a week ahead of time, remind the day before, and remind a second time the day-of.

Have plenty of pens and order forms ready for guests. Avoid having your computer out and a long line of guests waiting as the spinny cursor “thinks” and processes one order at a time. You’ll want to keep in mind that the shorter amount of time you can have between the time the guest decides she wants to buy, and the time you have her order on paper in your hand, the better. So have order forms and pens so people can fill out their form all at the same time, no waiting. You can enter their orders yourself, after the party is over.
Download and print a great order form from the company’s seintgallery.com resources page.
Prizes. Sometimes it’s fun to do prize giveaways at your party! Consider having some makeup out for grabs in a drawing at the end of the night.
Most of all have FUN! Remember this is exciting and you have a great product that can enrich and bless the lives of women all over! Come from a place of service and gratitude always, and that energy will shine through as you guide your guests through deciding on which makeup is the best fit for them.
